Close to home helps. The right fit matters more.

When you type “rehab near me,” you want the nearest place that can help. That is a fair place to start. Being close makes family visits, outpatient sessions and the drive home after discharge much easier.

But the nearest program is not always the right one. Detox, residential care, PHP (partial hospitalization: treatment during the day, home at night), IOP (intensive outpatient: several sessions a week) and outpatient counseling all fit different needs. If you are not sure which one your loved one needs, our level of care guide is a calm place to begin, and then you can come back and look close to home.

When you compare programs on a map, look past the distance. Ask how long the drive takes at the hour your loved one would travel, whether the program helps with rides, and whether family sessions fit around your work. A longer drive to the right level of care is usually worth it.

Don’t see your part of town? We are still confirming programs near you. Until then, the full directory lists every licensed program we have checked, and many families in those towns travel into Jacksonville for care.

Finding rehab near you: common questions

Do I have to pick a program in my own county?

No. Your loved one can go to any program that fits and that your coverage accepts. Insurance networks, Medicaid plans and state funding rules can affect the choice, so ask the plan before you decide.

Why does the list for my area look short?

We only list programs we have checked against Florida DCF licensing records, so some areas show only a few. Nearby areas, or our full treatment center directory, may have more. A short drive can open up better options.

Is it better to go far away for rehab?

Sometimes distance helps someone step away from people and places tied to their use. Other times, staying close keeps family involved and makes outpatient care possible. Talk it through with the program and a doctor, and match the level of care first.

How do I check that a nearby rehab is licensed?

Florida DCF licenses substance use treatment providers. Our guide shows you how to check the license with Florida DCF quickly, before you call.

What if we need help tonight?

In an emergency, call 911. For a crisis, call or text 988. For non-emergency help finding services any time of day, dial 2-1-1.

Start close to home, then let the level of care decide.
